How the Robux tax works
‘Robux tax’ is what players call Roblox’s Marketplace Fee. When someone spends Robux on a game pass or developer product in your game, Roblox keeps 30% and you receive 70%. The same 70% applies to paid private servers and paid access priced in Robux.
Your share is rounded down to a whole Robux: you receive floor(price × 7 ÷ 10). A 1,000 Robux pass pays 700, a 99 Robux pass pays 69 (69.3 rounds down) and a 15 Robux pass pays 10. This calculator uses whole-number math, so no price is ever off by one Robux from floating-point rounding. Once you earn enough, you can cash those Robux out through the Developer Exchange.
Price with tax covered: what to charge to receive an exact amount
‘With tax’ or ‘tax covered’ means raising the price so the seller still receives the full amount after the 30% fee. The price to set is the target × 10 ÷ 7, rounded up: 100 needs 143, 500 needs 715, 900 needs 1,286 and 1,000 needs 1,429.
Adding 30% on top does not work, because the fee comes off the full price. A 1,300 Robux pass (1,000 plus 30%) pays only 910. And 714 looks like 500 ÷ 0.7, but it pays 499 after rounding, so 715 is the first price that nets 500. See 500 Robux with tax.

PLS DONATE and Robux transfers
Details and tables: PLS DONATE tax calculator.
Robux transfers are a separate system. A Roblox Plus subscriber sends Robux to another player inside a game that supports transfers. The recipient receives 90%, the game receives 10% and Roblox takes no fee, so 100 Robux sent pays 90. Each transfer must be between 10 and 500 Robux. For odd amounts Roblox does not document the rounding, so this calculator rounds the recipient’s share down.
Robux you receive through a transfer are not Earned Robux, so they cannot be cashed out through DevEx. The game’s 10% is eligible. If a donation game sells game passes instead of using transfers, the normal 70% rule applies, so a 100 Robux pass donation pays 70.
Roblox Plus discounts do not cut your earnings
Roblox Plus subscribers get 10% off eligible purchases for their first two months and 20% off from the third month. Roblox covers the discount, so a 100 Robux pass still pays you 70 whether the buyer paid 100, 90 or 80.
Regional pricing can lower what a buyer pays
Managed Pricing is on by default for passes and sets region-specific prices. A regional price is never lower than 30% of your default price and never higher than it, so a 100 Robux pass sells for between 30 and 100 depending on the buyer’s economic location.
If you take commissions by game pass and need a fixed amount, disable Managed Pricing on that pass in Creator Hub so every buyer pays the full price.
What this calculator does not cover
Avatar items use a progressive share from 30% to 70% (see the UGC calculator), Limited resale has its own split, and cashing Robux out for money goes through DevEx. Each has its own calculator on GameDevTool.
