The two taxes people mean

Before you can cash out, Roblox already keeps 30% of Robux spent on your passes and products, so a 1,000 Robux sale adds 700 Earned Robux. See the Robux tax calculator for that step.

When you cash out, tax withholding can apply depending on the tax form you have on file. This calculator offers the common cases: a US creator with a W-9 (0%), backup withholding (24%), a non-US creator with no treaty (30%) or a treaty rate you enter. For non-US creators, withholding applies only to the share of your earnings that came from US players, so enter that percentage too. Confirm your own situation in Roblox’s tax information.

Worked example

30,000 Earned Robux at the standard rate is $114. A non-US creator with no treaty and 50% of earnings from US players has 30% × 50% = 15% withheld, which is $17.10, leaving $96.90. For the full cash-out tool with mixed balances, use the DevEx calculator.

FAQ
